After the Insanity
Things have finally calmed down for me. I'm back at home, after the semester of least visits to Wisconsin. I'm done with classes for the semester, and somehow managed to pull good grades and boost my overall GPA. I'm all packed and ready to move into my new room with the two most amazing girls ever to grace the Hope College campus, from whom I hope to learn much about being "cultured." I don't have to run off to do something for a while, the next two weeks are filled with little more exciting than watching my nephew and baking cookies. I'm totally thrilled to have time for my body to heal (I almost forget what it's like to stand up without having to grunt or use furniture to help me up). Sam is hilarious, he walks like a pro (well, a pro who has a really un-proportional body and very precarious balance). It's fun to see my family again, I miss them a lot. Overall, this break is really needed. I know, everyone always needs their breaks, but I haven't gotten a full night's sleep since Thanksgiving. Even the basement trundle bed is looking so good right now. Plus, there are the fun little things that I don't get anywhere else. Like watching the Packer game with my dad. Or going to the grocery with Mama. Or doing a little dance of impatience with my sister while waiting for the cookies to be done. I like having the time to appreciate the small oddities. Okay, this is boring, I know, so I'll be done. Maybe something absolutely thrilling will happen during the Grahmann Family Christmas that I can post about. Or maybe life will continue to be mundane for a couple more days, which I would just revel in. Have a Merry Christmas, everyone, and a good New Year's too if I don't see you.
