New Life
Here I am, in Chicago. And, as expected, everything in my life has changed. Well, maybe not every little thing. I'm still wearing the same clothes, I still have the same friends, still far away from the guy I'm dating. I'm still hungry all the time. But lots of things are different, too.
I'm "living" at Kathleen's for a while. Sleeping on an air mattress, trying to figure out how to get in and out of the building with only 1 set of keys. Her place is really nice, but it's not mine. I'm really looking forward to finding my own apartment. One problem: I don't really know how to do that. I can't even call to order pizza, how do I call up some stranger about an apartment? Maybe I'll use one of those services that helps you do it. But I'd have to call them, too. I'd like this process to not be long, so I've got to get up the nerve to call strangers pretty quick.
The dancing thing is going great so far. Well, it's also really really hard. I feel like I have to prove myself in every class. And since I just guessed at the levels I'd be taking, some of the classes are pretty hard. And even if the class itself is fine, the other students are totally intimidating. It's gonna be great once I get in the groove, but right now I feel like the worst one in every class. This is going to push me really hard, and that's going to be awesome.
Small problem #2: getting a job. Can I really just walk into a temp agency and they will give me a job? I need one quick, so I hope that's possible.
So, life is new and exciting and uncertain. I'm hoping things will settle down soon. But, who can really turn down an adventure?

Hey Paula,
Don't you just love Chicago? Anyway, I just got an email from a recruiter at a temp agency who finds jobs for people in the science industry.
The company is called Aerotek, www.aerotek.com. I don't know if that will help at all, but maybe it will!
Good luck with the job search!
